Everyone has a favourite beauty brand. One you will continue to go back to, know the counter assistant’s name off by heart and whose promotional emails you don’t delete but read in depth about a new launch. For me this has always been Dior and I’ve actually had this title in draft mode for so long with intention of writing something, just something, about the brand that I adore. I recently became part of the Dior Beauty Lovers club which I guess prompted my to write this as I needed to take images of some of the products you can see – their intention was just for Instagram but I liked them so I thought I’d put them on here too and FINALLY write that post. So whilst this post is not sponsored, I was lucky enough to have some products gifted (I feel these days more than ever I need to be clear on these things).
I remember very clearly buying my first Dior beauty product. I had started my first job as a teen and wanted to invest in good quality makeup. My mother has always been an unwavering Chanel beauty fan and I had many Rouge lipsticks to play with. But one day I was reading a magazine and I saw an advertisement for Dior Nude Foundation. We were going on holiday soon after and I vowed to myself to pick it up at the airport – these were the days that I bought without testing (young and fancy free I suppose) but I was lucky and it was perfect for me. I remember saving my pennies all throughout university just to continue to wear this beautiful foundation. Fast forward 8 years and there I am getting married in Dior’s Forever Foundation, mascara and with the comfort that it would not budge.
I’ve since become an avid Dior beauty lover and not just with makeup but in skincare especially. My go to daily moisturiser is now the Dior Hydra Glow and many of their lip products are nourishing balms that I tend to wear in place of lipstick. I must admit my favourite scent from Dior is one that may surprise you – it’s an oldie but a goodie and it’s the original Pure Poison and trust me it’s the winter scent you’ve been looking for! For such a long time I remember sneaking into my Mother’s room and spritzing before going on a date (she eventually just gave me the bottle) but these days I’m using more floral scents and am super excited by the new fragrance launch – Joy.
